Blount Awards
"Blount Awards is still in business! Our store is open for no more than 10 people at a time. We can also take orders over the phone or online through email, Facebook or our website. We have a lot of new decorator items that we will be rolling out soon in time for Mother’s Day! We also have our very popular engraved cutting boards with recipes, drawings, or whatever you want on them."

Blount County Children’s Center
"The Children’s Center has been impacted in the following ways…
Programs:
Administration: The staff and I are working staggered shifts, coming in to the office to handle deposits, pay bills, complete reports, etc. Otherwise, we are staying home.
Fundraising: Our main annual fundraiser, the Blue Ribbon Dinner, was canceled. Depending on circumstances, we may be able to reschedule it for later in the year. Who knows? If not, it will cause a major loss of funding for us. But we are blessed with supporters who have always risen to the challenge, so we feel confident that we will weather this unprecedented season of uncertainty."
"The Children’s Center has been impacted in the following ways…
Programs:
- In-School Prevention Presentations – We halted these when the schools closed.
- Forensic Interviews – We continue to work with DHR, Law Enforcement, and the DA to conduct interviews that are deemed of “immediate and critical” need. With each interview, we are taking all precautions to ensure the safety of the child, our employees, and our associates.
- Therapy – All face-to-face counseling is canceled for now. Our Therapist continues to work with older children and adults via video chat. This doesn’t work well with younger children, though.
- Awareness – All presentations have been canceled.

Blount EMS
"We need to stress to people that if you have an actual emergency it is safe to go to the hospital. St. Vincent’s Blount is safe and has taken all ADPH and CDC precautions. They can handle all of your emergency needs and even admit you there or a Birmingham hospital if needed. If however you are having general COVID-19 or Flu-like symptoms you should follow ADPH and CDC guidelines and call your Primary Care Physician and DO NOT go to the Emergency Room. There is nothing they can do except refer you to your Primary Care Physician for supportive care. There are people with real emergences who are waiting to call 911 and/or not being transporting being transported by ambulance. This could be life-threatening. If you have a true emergency you need to call 911 and go to the Emergency department! #STAYHOMEFORUS #ALWAYSOPEN #25YearsForBlount County"

Kim Lee State Farm
"We are going to have the office partially staffed beginning Monday, May 4, 2020. We will fully open May 11, 2020, if all goes to plan. We will encourage the majority of business to be conducted online but we will offer one on one appointments beginning this Monday."

Long Funeral Home
"We are doing what Gov. Ivey has put in place along with the Alabama Board of Funeral Services. We are only doing graveside services at the moment with allowing the immediate family members to have closure with a private viewing prior to graveside services. It is very hard not to allow the past, normal of doing things, to overrule with full visitation and service in chapel because we love our families so much. Another way we have adapted to this new way of things is by offering a video conference with family members to make funeral arrangements from the privacy of their home without any physical contact. That is hard also...I have been in the funeral industry for more than 26 years and I never had to experience anything like this before."

Realty South
"We are busy, busy, busy still at RealtySouth. Our office usually has at least one agent in the building most of the time. Otherwise you can call in and reach the on call agent from our office, the phone are set to automatically roll over to that agents cell for each day. Our office is still physically staffed with our Admin three days a week for three hours a day, Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. We are encouraging all our agents to work from home as much as possible and to take the necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy as well as keep all of their buyers and sellers the same. We have distributed mask to all our agents, gloves are available, as well as wipes and each has their own sanitizer as needed. We ask sellers to please leave lights on and closet doors and cabinets open for minimal touching when we are showing. We are surviving and thriving in the Real Estate World and it’s never been a better time to list and buy with the current low interest rates that are available. We would love to assist anyone who help during this pandemic needs just give us a call and let us help them figure it all out because every day and every transaction is a new adventure no matter what side you are on."

Redeemer Community Church
Currently, Redeemer Community Church has suspended face-to-face Worship Gatherings. Pastor Matt Scott reports, "We are offering a live-stream Worship Gathering at 10:00 am on Sundays. In addition, until the “shelter in place” mandate of Alabama is lifted, the church office is currently closed. You can reach us by email at [email protected]. As the State of Alabama reopens and lifts restrictions, we have a five-stage Re-Launch Plan for resuming face-to-face Worship Gatherings that will abide by the rules and recommendations of our government officials. We won’t be open until the current mandates expire on May 15, 2020. But we are still not sure what they are going to recommend. We anticipate opening the Church Office on May 18. For now, we are still live-streaming our services."

Sweet HOMElife Real Estate
"Real estate is essential so we are still working, just not congregating at the office! We offer video showings, virtual open houses and take decision makers only inside homes for live showings. We also have the sellers leave all lights on so touching is very minimal. We sanitize our hands and remove shoes when possible and wipe down anything we do need to touch with disinfectant wipes. It's pretty much business as usual except for those changes! Closings are being done in a drive through manner and local closing offices have streamlined the process and it's actually quicker than the way we used to do it!"

Vision Source
"We have begun seeing non-emergency patients for their yearly exams. We are asking all patients and staff to wear a mask. We are limiting number of patients in office at a time. We sanitize everything after a patient visit with Lysol or Clorox spray followed by hydrochlorous acid which kills everything and is Ph neutral so very non-toxic. We have UV C wands ordered to add a third layer of disinfection to keep staff and patients safe. We are back to our normal office hours and may expand those to make sure we meet the demand."
