Message from the President of the OBA
Welcome to the Oneonta Business Association. It is our mission to advance all local Oneonta businesses and their promotion through marketing, events, tourism, economic development, and leadership. As a non-profit organization, the OBA is dedicated to championing the growth and enrichment of businesses within the City of Oneonta by providing opportunities for sharing information, networking and education; by fostering a sense of community among its members, by improving the business climate for its members by monitoring state and local legislative and agency actions which impact its members while providing a forum for dialogue between its members and opinion leaders, legislators, other interest groups and the general public; and by promoting public awareness of the contribution of its members to the economic, physical and social vitality of the City of Oneonta community.
Through membership in the OBA, you will grow your business and increase your brand’s presence among our fellows and within the community. It is our quest to help you and every local business accomplish both objectives. As Directors, it is our duty to cultivate a thriving and robust, business-friendly community. Over the past year we have achieved that goal through programs and events such as Paint the Town, Light the Town, Candidate Forums, Christmas Staycation, Cruise & Croon Car Shows and our new Member Mingle events just to name a few. One thing is for certain, the OBA has an outstanding Board of Directors that works as a team. The OBA is devoted to building and improving partnerships between the community, local merchants and our city. Our 2022-2023 Executive Committee includes: Jack Bains - Vice President and owner of Southern Exposure Photography and attorney, Tara Murphree – Secretary, Bill Hendrickson – Treasurer and retired U. S. Navy submarine captain, and yours truly, Greg Brown, as President and Administrator of St. Vincent’s Blount. Together, our doors are always open. Thank you for your continued support of the OBA. We look forward to making this our most successful year to date! I would like to encourage you to get actively involved with the OBA. Jump in, roll up your sleeves, and let’s take this exciting journey together. Sincerely, Greg Brown President Oneonta Business Association |
