CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR WINNERS

The OBA had its annual awards celebration on Saturday, October 16, 2021, on the 300 block of "Tin Town" in downtown Oneonta.  OBA members nominated over 36 entities for these awards. The top three in each category were asked to submit nominee information and supporting documents (newspaper articles, letters of support, etc.).  An independent judging panel from the Mobile Bay area of Alabama studied the information and chose the winners that are pictured below (Hover over for their names and titles).

SPECIAL HONORS

The OBA presented long overdue praise and thanks to MARK GARGUS (MG Services) and MIKE GORDON (Gordon Electric) for their countless hours of volunteer work in leading the LIGHT THE TOWN project in 2019.  For the past 25 years, the City's downtown sector buildings were lit by an incandescent light system that was donated by Glenn Glaze.  The system had become deteriorated and too expensive to maintain.  With the expert guidance of Mark and Mike, the OBA began the LIGHT THE TOWN project that placed an efficient LED lighting system on the rooftop perimeters of buildings downtown that soon expanded to other areas of town.
